China Shaanxi – Malaysia Business Forum held in Xi’an

On May 11th, the China Shaanxi – Malaysia Business Forum co-organized by the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia was held in Xi’an. More than 30 companies from Malaysia and over 200 enterprises from Shaanxi Province participated in the meeting. Representatives from leading enterprises such as Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group Cooperation Limited made promotion presentations.

As the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, Shaanxi is making full use of its advantages in location and transportation, space and market, talents and resource, environment and culture to build a center for traffic and trade logistics, international cooperation in production capacity, scientific and technological education, international cultural tourism, and Silk Road financing along the Belt and Road.

Chen Guoqiang, the Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province said: “With the promoting of the Belt and Road initiative and the advancing of international capacity cooperation, Shaanxi has been constantly deepening economic and trade exchanges with Malaysia and remarkable achievements have been made. In the future, Shaanxi will continue to encourage excellent enterprises in the province to invest in Malaysia. At the same time, friends from all walks of life in Malaysia are welcomed to participate in Shaanxi’s opening up and carry out more extensive and close cooperation with Shaanxi to realize complementary advantages and benefits”.

This forum is known as one of the activities of the guest countries in the third Silk Expo. It consists of one main forum and four parallel forums: “Malaysia Investment hotspots” “Malaysia Headquarters Economy and E-commerce”, “China Shaanxi – Malaysia Exchange Meeting on Higher Education”, and “Malaysia – China Health Care Travel”. During these meetings, companies from both countries carried out project communications in areas of equipment manufacturing, e-commerce, foreign trade, tourism culture, medical rehabilitation, and higher education.
