Xi’an Tourist Bus

In Xi’an, 13 tourist bus lines are in service, providing convenient transport for travelers. Usually, these buses can be easily recognized by their numbers marked with the character “游” (You) which means ‘Tourist’. Most of the attractions in the urban area, such as the Bell Tower, Shaanxi History Museum and Big Wild Goose Pagoda, are linked by the tourist lines. In addition, the transportation to destinations in the suburbs, such as Terracotta Army Museum and Mt. Huashan, can also be dependent on these buses.

Note: At present, lines 1, 2 and 3 are temporarily closed, and the re-opening time has not been decided.

Tips on Line 5:

1. As a busy tour line, Line 5 is also frequently used by local citizens and the universities' students. Therefore, you may find it is difficult to take the buses on weekends. In order to release the pressure, there are alternatives of suburban lines of No. 914 and No. 915, which can also be taken at the East Square of the Railway Station.

2. During holidays like weekends and National Day Holiday, there will be more schedules. Buses leave at intervals of around 5 minutes then. However, the ticket fare during holidays may be increased by CNY1 to CNY2.

3. After arriving at the railway station, you may find that some people recommend their buses or ask whether you need a bus to the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horse. They are some private tour guides of good faith, but don’t show any interest in them! Just keep away from them or say 'No!' loudly.

Tourist Bus to Mt. Huashan

Regular tourist buses bound for the Jade Spring Temple at the foot of Mt. Huashan are available at the East Square of Xian Railway Station. They depart once all seats are taken.
