Time-honored Xi'an Restaurant

Founded in 1929, Xi'an Restaurant is a world-renowned and time-honored Chinese restaurant. Known for a great concentration of Shaanxi-flavored food, it makes the first intangible cultural heritage lists of Shaanxi and Xi’an. It received Chinese Party and state leaders like Zhou Enlai and Ye Jianying, patriotic generals like Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng, cultural celebrities like Lao She and Liu Qing, heads of state like former DPRK President Kim II-sung and Czech President Vaclav Klaus, as well as Taiwanese celebrities like Lien Chan, James Soong and Wu Po-hsiung. It is famed for undertaking important banquets around the “Xi’an Incident”. In the 1970s, it was extended under the care of Premier Zhou Enlai. Literary great Guo Moruo wrote its name.

In recent years, Xi’an Restaurant has successively opened five medium & large-sized stores: Fenghao Road Store, Jinhua South Road Store, Bell Tower Hotel Daqin Hall, Changan South Road Store and Jinye Road Store in Gaoxin District.
