The Longest Day in Chang'an as a novel was originally published in 2017, it tells the story of a Turkic wolf guard who infiltrated the city of Chang'an one night, but the main character eventually cracked the conspiracy and saved Chang'an. It was later adapted into a hit TV series of the same name, which was released for online broadcast in 2019.

The popular TV drama The Longest Day in Chang'an, which was shot in the ancient Chinese city of Xi'an in Shaanxi province, has made the city a tourist hot spot. Since the debut of the series, online inquiries about flight ticket bookings to Xi'an achieved a major boost.

Predictably, based on this IP, related offline business scenarios will be derived, and this will become an irresistible trend.

The project "The Longest Day in Chang'an" is jointly built by several cultural tourism and media companies, combining film and television IP with commercial IP, also integrating diversified business and immersive experiences, thus creating a new business model of cultural tourism. This way, a Tang culture-themed cultural tourism brand embedded with shopping scenarios was thus established, literally bringing Tang culture into people's life.

Located in Mandi Square in the city, the new entertainment and commercial shopping complex will cover three levels, with a floor space of 24,000 square meters. It will integrate the intellectual property of the TV series and the civil culture of the Tang Dynasty. This project for the first time restores the full scenes of the TV series IP and brings them to the public, expected to become a leading industry model for converting film and television drama into cultural tourism projects. To date, the complex has reached commercial agreements with nearly 100 special merchants and well-known brands.

The project combines the plot, characters, props and storyline featuring in the TV set, and focuses on six immersion areas – including the performing arts and cultural feasts – enabling visitors to experience and gain an insight into life during the Tang period.

The brand "The Longest Day in Chang'an" takes the historical evolution of Tang Chang'an as the cornerstone and the heritage of traditional culture as the core, and is committed to telling the story of the Tang Dynasty and creating a new cultural brand of the city.
