Xianglu Temple is located on the summit of Mount Xianglu, 200 meters eastward of Jiaxian County. It faces the Yellow River in the east. Unconnected with the land on three sides, it only opens onto the ancient city gate through a narrow lane in the northwest. In front of the Mount Xianglu stands a huge rock which is 5 meters in diameter and more than 20 meters in height. The huge rock is 2 meters away from the main peak, with a shape of high-foot censer, hence the name Xianglu Temple.

According to stone tablet records existing in the temple, Xianglu Temple is founded in the 42nd year of Ming Wanli (AD 1614). The main hall on Mount Xianglu is Goddess Temple, with side halls on the left and right sides. In the south are the mountain gate and stone memorial archway.“Mount Xianglu Reflected by the Setting Sun”is one of eight sceneries in Jiaxian County.
