The Daming Palace was the most magnificent palace complex of the Tang Empire, the most splendid palace complex in the world at that time, and the national symbol of the Tang dynasty. Covering an area of 3.2 square kilometers, it was built in the eighth year (634) of Zhenguan period during the reign of Emperor Tai Zong of the Tang Dynasty, and was destroyed at the end of the Tang Dynasty. With a circumference of 7.6 kilometers, it has 11 gates, as well as over 40 palaces, terraces and pavilions.

The Daming Palace is among the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units, as well as a major site protection project of world significance designated by the International Council on Monuments and Sites. In 2014, it was added on the World Heritage List as a site in the heritage of "Silk Roads: the Routes Network of Chang'an-Tianshan Corridor" which was applied for jointly by China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Cultural relics preservation and exhibition area: CNY 60 (half price for 6-year-old (excluding 6-year-old) to 18-year-old (including 18-year-old), full-time university undergraduates or below with valid ID or student ID. )

Time:

09:30-18:00 (Every year from October 16th to April 14th of the following year)

09:30-19:00 (Every year from April 15th to October 15th of the following year)

2. Transportation

By Bus:

Take bus 2, 262 and get off at Tongjiaxiang Station.

Take bus 16, 17, 22, 38, 46, 104, 209, 801 and get off at Taihua Road Station.

By Subway:

Take Subway Line 2 to DaminggongXi (Daming Palace West) Station and get out from Exit D. Walk several Minutes to the palace.
