Shaanxi – Gansu Zhaojin Revolutionary Base Area Memorial Hall is located in Yaozhou District of the city of Tongchuan, Shaanxi Province. Shaanxi-Gansu Zhaojin Revolutionary Base Area was the first revolutionary base area in the mountainous area founded by Liu Zidan, Xie Zichang, Li Miaozhai and other such old generations of Proletarian Revolutionists in the northwest region at the beginning of the 1930s. It is centered on Zhaojin County in Yaozhou District, and crosses over Yaozhou District, Xunyi, Chunhua, Yijun and other such counties and districts, with an area of 2,500 sq.km and a population of 30,000 to 40,000.

The construction of Shaanxi-Gansu Zhaojin Revolutionary Base Area Memorial Hall was started in 1996. The arrangement of exhibitions was completed prior to 1st July 2002, the anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. It was opened in April 2004. On the list of national red tourism top-quality routes and classic scenic areas that was co-released by NDRC, the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, National Tourism Administration and other such ten departments, Shaanxi – Gansu Zhaojin Revolutionary Base Area Memorial Hall that was located in Yaozhou District of the city of Tongchuan was listed as one of the national top 100 red tourism classic scenic areas.

Transportation:

Tourists can take a train from Xi’an to Tongchuan Station, and drive for about 1 hour to get there.
