Multiple payment methods for international visitors coming to Shaanxi

With the increasing international exchanges in Shaanxi, the number of overseas visitors coming to Shaanxi for both short and long term has been increasing year by year. Overseas visitors to Shaanxi can easily make payments in daily consumption scenarios such as shopping, dining, hotel accommodation, and public transportation by adding their international bank cards to mobile payment APP such as WeChat and Alipay. The convenience and service coverage of these payment methods shall meet the payment service needs of different types of overseas visitors to Shaanxi.

Currently, there are seven payment methods available for overseas visitors to choose from in Shaanxi:

Add international bank cards to WeChat Pay

Use Cloud QuickPass (the mobile payment service of UnionPay)

Apply for and recharge the "travel pass card" in the UnionPay, with the eligible ID such as the passport, and use the UnionPay to pay.

Use the overseas mobile payment APP to scan the UnionPay QR code

When visiting Shaanxi and making purchases at merchants with the UnionPay QR code, residents of Hong Kong and Macao can directly use Hong Kong and Macao versions of UnionPay, ICBC Macau, and other local mobile payment APP.

For foreign residents, when making purchases at merchants with the UnionPay QR code,  nearly 170 overseas mobile payment APP can be used, such as K PLUS (Thailand) and Never Pay (South Korea), via adding their overseas UnionPay bank cards to the APP.

Directly use overseas bank cards

Overseas visitors holding overseas bank cards with logos such as Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay can directly use their cards to make payments in restaurants, entertainment, supermarkets, airports, hotels, and so on, as long as the merchants accept overseas bank cards. 

Pay with cash

Visitors can withdraw cash or exchange foreign currencies at the bank's business outlets or ATMs. Foreign currency exchange points and self-service exchange machines can also be accessed at airports and foreign-related hotels.

Pay with e-CNY

Register and open a digital RMB wallet on the APP e-CNY with an overseas phone number, and then recharge using overseas bank cards under Visa and Mastercard.
