On the morning of April 4, the 2025 Qingming Festival Memorial Ceremony for the Yellow Emperor, jointly hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, and the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, was held at the Qiaoshan Sacrificial Square in Huangling County, Shaanxi Province.

The theme of this year’s memorial ceremony is “forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and forging ahead toward Chinese-style modernization”. There were altogether nine activities: i) standing solemnly for the drum beats and bell rings; ii) singing Ode to the Yellow Emperor; iii) presenting flower baskets; iv) delivering the memorial address; v) three deep bows to the statue of the Yellow Emperor; vi) memorial music and dance performance; vii) dragon soaring to the sky; viii) visiting the Xuanyuan Hall and the Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor; and ix) planting Qiaoshan cypresses.

Sun Yumei, vice president of the EUROCHINESEDAILY, came to participate in the Memorial Ceremony for the Yellow Emperor for the third time this year, and she was deeply touched. "I work in Romania all year round and have settled there. I am very honored to be invited to attend this ceremony. Through such activities, I deeply feel that as the descendants of Yan and Huang, no matter where we are, we will never forget we are Chinese.” Sun Yumei said that whenever she has spare time, she will pay a visit back to China, and she often tell stories about the Yellow Emperor to Chinese children in Romania so as to remind them of their roots and origin.

Gao Qiaoyan, a reporter from the TDM of Macao, said that both holding a ceremony in Macao to worship the Yellow Emperor and watching the live broadcast from Shaanxi are to better pass down the sacrificial culture to the younger generation and spread the story of Chinese culture, only in different forms. "I believe that no matter where we are, all the Chinese will cherish the memory of our ancestors with reverence and carry forward the soul and spirit of the Chinese nation," Gao Qiaoyan said.
