West China Culture Industries Expo concludes in Xi'an

The 10th West China Culture Industries Expo and the 2023 Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo concluded in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Aug 20.

The expo, which lasted four days, attracted delegations from 27 countries and regions, as well as delegations from 21 provinces and cities in China, over 700 cultural tourism companies, and more than 98,000 exhibitors, with a total of over 150,000 visitors.

The main venue, consisting of five exhibition halls and one outdoor area, showcased the new face of the cultural and tourism sector in West China. The 38 sub-venues established in various museums, cultural streets, and cities in Shaanxi province created a vibrant cultural atmosphere.

International forums were also held during the expo, including the Forum on the Development of Tourism Cities in Countries along the Silk Road, strengthening cultural exchanges among participating countries.

As the guest country of honor, Kyrgyzstan carried out in-depth exchanges and cooperation with Shaanxi in the cultural and tourism industry, reaching important agreements and achieving fruitful results for further cooperation.

In addition, agreements for 29 key cultural tourism projects worth 14.35 billion yuan ($1.97 billion) were signed at the expo.

Shaanxi plans to use the expo to deepen regional exchanges and cooperation, promote the deep integration of culture and tourism, accelerate the deployment of a new model for cultural industry development in western China, and contribute to the high-quality development of the national cultural industry.
