Xi’an Intl Marathon is accepting applications NOW!

Last October, the international marathon was successfully organized in Xi'an for the first time. This year, the Xi'an International Marathon is accepting applications starting from YESTERDAY (Aug 27th)!

I. Race Time

7:30, October 20th (Saturday), 2018

II. Registration Time

From 10:00, August 27th to 22:00, September 5th, 2018

III. Races

Marathon (42.195km)

Half Marathon (21.0975km)

Mini Marathon (5km)

IV. Location Start & Finish

Start:

Xi'an Yongning Gate Square (South Gate)

Finish:

Yudao Square of Daming Palace National Heritage Park (Marathon); Xi'an Kaiyuan Square (Half marathon); Northwest University (Mini marathon).

V. Number of Participants

Maximum of 15,000 people for the marathon, 10,000 people for half marathon. If registration exceeds the marathon and half-marathon limit, a lottery selection will be drawn to decide who gets the qualification. Maximum of 5,000 people for mini-marathon, based on the first-come-first-served basis.

VI. Registration Process

Log on to the official website and fill in the required registration information → Select race → Read and agree to the disclaimer → Fill in race information → Wait for the result of lottery selection (successful registers can finish payment to get the qualification / Unsuccessful registers can finish payment to enter the waiting list.)

Result of lottery selection will be published on September 12th.

Participants can log on the official website to check their results or their orders in the waitlist. Successful participants of the lottery selection should finish the payment before 22:00 of September 17th, otherwise the participant has to give up the qualification, which will be given to the participant on the top of waiting list after 22:00 of September 17th.

VII. Quit Application

Before September 30th, participants can quit the race by clicking the “quit application” on the official website and have 80% registration fee back within a week after quitting the application. After September 30th, cancellation of the application will not be accepted and no refund will be issued.

Participants in the waiting list who do not get qualification after October 7th can get full registration fee back within a week.

IX. Registration Fee

    i. Applicants of Chinese nationality (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan):

        1. Marathon: ¥150 RMB / person

        2. Half Marathon: ¥150 RMB / person

        3. Mini marathon ¥80 RMB / person

    ii. Applicants of foreign nationality

        1. Marathon: $30 USD / person

        2. Half marathon $30 USD / person

        3. Mini marathon $16 USD / person

XI. Pre-exercise suggestions before the marathon

i. Alternate between the short distance run (5km/7km/10km) and long run (15km/20km/25km/30km/35km). Take one or two days break during each long run. No need to do the running exercise on a daily basis;

ii. Some other exercise can be practiced during the break like swimming, riding bikes, walking, rowing and strength training etc. to balance the muscle stress and avoid the strain of muscle.
