On September 7th, 2013, President Xi Jinping proposed the conception of jointly constructing "the Silk Road Economic Belt". Then, in October 2013, President Xi Jinping put forward building of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road during his visit to Southeast Asian countries. With support and guidance of Ministry of Culture, Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture actively carried out effective work and launched the application of the Silk Road International Arts Festival in time according to the guideline of "Constructing the New Starting Point of the Silk Road Economic Belt with the Priority of Culture". On September 5, 2014, the Central Government finally approved the Silk Road International Arts Festival and Shaanxi is the hosting Province. It is held every year.
The Silk Road International Arts Festival is the first national comprehensive arts festival focusing on the Silk Road. It is hosted by Ministry of Culture and Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and organized by Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture. The Festival is in conform to the "Belt and Road Initiative", inherits the value of "Peace, Harmony and Cooperation", focuses on three themes of "the Silk Road as its Core, Chinese Culture plays an active role in terms of cultural exchange, and International Elements enhances the bond between different peoples".
After it is held for three consecutive years, the number of the countries and regions taking part in the Festival has jumped from the first session 30, the second 62, the third 80, to 106 this year. The activity forms become richer and art categories are more complete. The festival's internationalism, persistence and uniqueness have been further manifested.
The Silk Road International Arts Festival has become an important platform for international cultural exchange to carry forward the spirits of the Silk Road and enhance cultural exchange.
On September 7th, 2017, we are going to see the 4th Silk Road International Arts Festival and let us wait for the arrival of domestic and overseas artists at the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and share the new round of cultural feast… In the new period of transcendence in Shaanxi, let us make new contributions to build up cultural confidence, stick to cultural priority, carry forward Chinese spirits and create a cultural Shaanxi.

Brief introduction:
Although things seem to be the same, each of them has its own individuality and charm; although things seem different, they have countless ties of universality and connection.
Modern dance DU-K, inspired by a mixture of Chinese style and Israel elements, is performed jointly by Chinese and Israel dancers. In the performance lasting up to 60 minutes, dancers imitate various human ideology and mental attitude by body movement and exaggerated facial expressions and describe things of life and historical significance by art languages, proving the saying that art is from life but goes beyond life.

Brief introduction:
The play provides the most deep-going mind baptism for children and their parents by the most magic way and splendid theatrics, let children feel the easily obtained desire is at the cost of lose and satisfying a desire quickly or changing at random will get unexpected results in the end. "We have no goodness and badness in nature but we are bad and good because our mind acts. Knowing what is good and what is bad is our conscience and doing good deeds and getting rid of badness are based on our understanding of things." Is there anything else to say?
The play starts from the illness on Wang Yangming's way home when he was old and spread his life experience in different stages little by little, and forms a surging up and down river of life of Wang Yangming. Life experience covering deep feelings and broad love as well as great pains and extreme pleasure sublimate and deepen his thoughts. The end goes back to sick Wang Yangming in a boat on the river. He finishes his life tragically but his thoughts and dream continue.

Thousands of years goes by easily but the dream of human is always bright colored.
Those fossils of music best witnesse human beings who go through time and space. Though the sound is from Poland's ancient musical instrument Lute, it has integrated plenty of imaginations of people today. But pieces of ancient music tell the mysterious story of the Middle Ages that was a remote time and an age of renaissance as well.
Professor Maria Pomianowska is a performer of various musical instruments, vocalist, composer, teacher, professor of Academy of Music in Kraków and director of Warsaw Cross-culture Festival and music composed is loved by the audience.

With the background of Shawan, an old town in Guangdong in the 1930s, the Past of Shawan takes three outstanding people in the family among many musicians in Guangdong as archetypes, and the content of classic famous Music Competition on the Dragon Boat Festival as clue. The dance drama represents romaunt development by contemporary dance elements and uses skillfully designed delicate dance section to annotate profound connotation of classic music.

Soft dialect of Jiangsu represents the sad, beautiful and winding love story at the thriving Yue Port in Zhangzhou in the late Ming Dynasty where boats and businessmen gathered.
The play closely integrates the spread of traditional Chinese medicine, mutual beneficial communications and loyalty to love and describes deep love of a doctor and beauty of human nature. It leaves a significant footprint in spreading traditional Chinese medicine. This is the debut of such content in a drama stage.

The band Balkan Fire was set up in 2002 and it is a band that combines hip-hop music and world music. As co-founders of the band, two experienced music producers integrated music of different styles and established their own band and named it Balkan Fire. The band devotes itself to make the Hungarian folk music known to the western countries. Since 2003, Balkan Fire has left footprint in large music festivals. In 2015, it was invited to perform in Beijing and Shanghai by Beijing Hungarian Culture Center.

It shows the birth, development and integration of grassland civilization and the development of Inner Mongolia brought by the Silk Road Economic Belt Initiative by grassland Silk Road.

Jazz Island is an Akabela Orchestra professionally playing complex, the members of which work together with their teacher Arturas Novikas to make folks or classical music sound more modern and more colorful. In 2014, Jazz Island won the choral competition in the jazz music field.

In the late Qing Dynasty, tea trade was flourishing, ranging from Hankou of Hubei, China to Kyakhta of Tsarist Russia. The boss of the firm Dahexing was ill and out of home, so Sanniang Linglong came forward to lead the tea team to embark on a long business trip. Linglong experienced all kinds of hardships with everyone. However, her emotion and destiny were also intertwined with joys and sorrows and changed ceaselessly.

1. 2017 Research Proposal for Young Sinologists (Xi’an)
On the basis of the first Research Proposal for Young Sinologists (Xi’an) successfully held in 2016, the new Research Proposal for Young Sinologists (Xi’an) project plans to draw the curtain again in the ancient city Xi’an. The research plan aims to set up an exchange and research platform that supports the overseas young Chinese Studies researchers and think tank scholars so as to provide convenience and viable help for their academic researches and creation, support them to conduct exchanges and cooperation research projects with the local excellent organizations, teams, enterprises and scholars in the academic, cultural and educational fields in China and help them improve the academic levels and international influence.
At that time, around 30 young sinologists from five continents and 21 countries will gather in the one-thousand-year ancient capital and jointly discuss about the frontier topics in the contemporary sinology research.

3. Modern Art Week
“Ice comes from water but colder than water; Qin comes from blue and is thicker than blue.” Modern art originates from the opposite of traditional art, reacting to the need of personality and humanity. Modern art represents public consciousness, diversified value and free creation. It emphasizes social functions and let art walk out of ivory become close to the life of common people. Artists take social responsibilities of their own, care for social problems and actively take part in social activities.
Modern Art Week includes four sections including Opera Exhibition & Performance, Art Class, Dance Marathon, Invitational Exhibition of Modern Creative Products. In Opera Exhibition & Performance, art troupes from countries and regions like Germany, Ukraine, Slovenia will conduct field exhibition show such as modern dance, percussion, magic acrobatics. In Art Class, artists in Master Class will conduct interactive artistic lectures with unique features. Dance Marathon will provide a platform for the new youth to show dances they composed themselves. here will be the youth original modern dance competition from Hungary. Invitational Exhibition of Modern Art will be focused on exhibition of most creative art concepts.

IV. Ancient Road & New Arts
Over 140 years ago in the Han Dynasty, a diplomatic mission starting from Chang’an marched to the west and completed Travel to Diplomatic Blindness. This is Zhang Qian’s envoy to the western regions. The stories happened in the thriving Tang Dynasty more than one thousand years ago were once the elite pieces among Chinese stories. On September 8, famous paintings, sculptors, seal cutter, tea art masters, experts on antique repair from Shaanxi and their works will gather in Xi'an Youth Art Museum to tell stories about the land and their stories. 4. International Child Drama Week

Macedonia: Cuckovski is the first soloist at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet and a professor at the Faculty of Audio-Visual Art – ESRA.
United States: There is a simple music integrates several elements and they call it Central Belt of Music. There is a trio mixing violin and piano and they call it JANA JAE&TRIPLE THREAT.
The Republic of Bulgaria: With the love to the Bulgarian dance and song, in 2004 in Sliven the Folk Dance Ensemble “Bravo” was born. The participants in it has rich performance experience and high-end performance skills.
Czech Republic and Slovakia: They skillfully combines mime with music. The mime and the musician have to react with great creativity to the sudden stimuli and ideas of the audience.
Georgia: The ensemble was established in 2002 on the base of Zugdidi Municipality and took part in art festivals held in many countries.
Azerbaijan: Since 2011, PASHAZADE SAHIB has been awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
