Standing on the top of Nangong Mountain, overlooking to west, there are luxuriantly green immense forests in the vast Dabashan mountain. Nangong Mountain enjoys the north subtropical monsoon climate, with annual average rainfall of 1009.9 mm, and the air is humid , as well as it is covered with thick vegetation.

At the south slope of Nangong Mountain, there are heaps of boulders, cirque, horn, surrounding valley, trough valley and moraine that have the large area. They are well-preserved, which is the most typical remains of Dabashan mountain.

Nangong Mountain has more than 2100 kinds of higher plants, of which 848 species are woody plants, herbaceous plants 883 species, and there are a lot of ferns, moss fresh plants.

Nangong Mountain has 31 kinds of rare and endangered plants belonging to national key protection, such as the Chinese dove tree, Cercidiphyllum, Tetracentron sinensis, Ginkgo tree, etc. Many trees are old tertiary relic plants, being regard as "living fossil".

Because of its special geographical environment and geologic conditions, the kinds of endemic plants, single species and rare species plants, rare and endangered plants and species and woody plants in Nangong Mountain rank first in Shaanxi, being regarded as "Xishuangbanna” of Shaanxi.
