Xi'an to launch the 1st downtown duty-free store

The Xi'an duty-free store operation agreement signed on March 12 marks the arrival of the city's first downtown duty-free store.

According to the agreement, Xianyang International Airport Duty-Free Goods Co, a subsidiary of China Duty-Free Group (CDF), will establish the store in the Beilin district of Xi'an.

The store will span 2,050 square meters and have a 10-year operational term. It will provide significant convenience for outbound locals and international tourists visiting Xi'an, offering duty-free shopping opportunities.

Xi'an and CDF will collaborate to explore and promote local products, including famous regional brands, cultural products, and national trend goods, enhancing the city's retail offerings.

The store will serve as a key platform for the international expansion of Chinese brands, aiming to boost the local commercial and tourism service industries. It is expected to become a distinctive shopping destination with cultural and modern retail elements.

Xi'an was selected as one of eight cities nationwide to host a downtown duty-free store, making it the only city in Northwest China to receive such approval. The move aligns with the city's efforts to enhance its commercial and tourism infrastructure, positioning Xi'an as a future international consumer hub.
