The 1st metro circle line in Xi'an to open soon
On November 11, according to Shang Zhijian, the deputy general manager of the Xi’an Metro Operations Division, the Xi’an Metro Line 8 is currently undergoing a three-month trial run without passengers. After completing the eight government inspections and a three-month trial run, a safety assessment will be conducted. Following these evaluations, Xi’an Metro Line 8 will officially open to the public.
Xi'an Metro Line 8 is the key line in the Xi'an city rail transit network and the first circular line. It has a total length of 49.9 kilometers and consists of 37 stations, including 18 transfer stations, all of which are underground.
Line 8 is designed with a maximum speed of 80 km/h, incorporating GOA4 standard intelligent metro fully automatic driverless technology.
Line 8 will be the first to integrate advanced technologies such as fully automatic operation, cloud platforms, intelligent maintenance, smart stations, and a broadband cluster, providing passengers with a smarter, more convenient, and more comfortable travel experience.
After its completion, Line 8 will enable transfers with the seven existing lines and serve five administrative districts: Yanta District, Lianhu District, Weiyang District, Xincheng District, and Baqiao District. It will also connect four national-level development zones: Qujiang New Area, Gaoxin High-tech Zone, Jingkai Economic Development Zone, and Xi'an Chanba International Port. At the same time, it will create a fast and convenient passenger transfer corridor between the second and third ring roads.
