On June 18, the Shaanxi-Central Asia Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Meeting was held in Xi'an. Representatives from countries such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan gathered with officials, entrepreneurs, and industry experts in Shaanxi to explore new opportunities for cooperation.

In the first quarter of this year, the total import and export volume between Shaanxi and Central Asian countries reached 2.269 billion yuan, an increase of 2.4 times compared to the same period of last year.

Currently, Shaanxi has built two overseas warehouses in Central Asia and five are under construction. Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is the first in China to fully cover passenger routes to six destinations in five Central Asian countries. The number of China-Europe freight trains (Xi'an) destined for Central Asian countries continues to rise, and a new supply chain model of "China-Europe freight train + overseas warehouse" is gradually forming. Xi'an's role as a trade and logistic distribution center between China and Central Asia is becoming more prominent.

Over the past year, Shaanxi has offered professional training for over 10,000 agricultural officials, experts, scholars, and technical personnel from Central Asian countries and others. The construction of the Xi'an Aiju North Kazakhstan Grain and Oil Supply Chain Logistics Processing Base is speeding up, with an estimated annual trading capacity of 1 million tons by 2024.

In the past year, the number of tourists between Shaanxi and five Central Asian countries reached 81,300, with a breaking record of 30,700 from January to April this year, which is 4.67 times that of the same period last year.

Since last year, Shaanxi has organized a total of 106 groups of economic and trade delegations to Central Asian countries, focusing on practical cooperation in areas such as energy and chemicals, engineering contracting, and light industry textiles. In 2023, Shaanxi's exports to Central Asia increased by 178%, and by 136.2% from January to May this year.

Shaanxi will further deepen its production capacity cooperation with Central Asian countries, focus on key industries such as modern agriculture, establish a trading center for bulk commodities, expand the export of key products such as heavy-duty trucks, solar cells, and new energy vehicles, import more high-quality goods from Central Asia, and enhance cooperation and exchanges in emerging fields such as digital economy, green development, and smart cities. Shaanxi will also deepen connectivity with Central Asian countries, cooperate in building international logistics nodes and logistics parks, optimize the layout and construction of overseas warehouses in Central Asian countries, and continue to open new freight and passenger routes from Xi'an to Central Asian countries.
