The 1st Sky Shuttle in Xi'an wil open this month
On May 10th, Li Hui, the General Manager of BYD's rail transit business, introduced that the first Sky Shuttle (Gaoxin District) in Xi'an will be officially launched this month.
The Sky Shuttle line is approximately 17.2 kilometers long and has 18 stations. It passes through the core area of Xi'an's "economic engine", the Xi'an High-Tech Zone, covering various major industrial sectors and residential areas such as the Silk Road Software City, Jinye Road area, Chang'an Industrial Park, and CID. It connects well-known enterprises such as BYD and Huawei and other hi-tech companies in information technology, software, Internet of Things, and equipment manufacturing, spanning important transportation corridors and major passenger flow hubs.
The opening of Sky Shuttle not only shortens the commuting time for residents along the line but also further narrows the distance between the southwest of Xi'an and the main urban area.
The Sky Shuttle can accommodate approximately 210 passengers in its initial stage and connects to Metro Line 3, Line 6, and Line 15 (under construction). Passengers can purchase tickets on-site or use Changan Tong or the Xi'an Sky Shuttle WeChat mini-program.
The Sky Shuttle runs autonomously and unmanned. It also automatically departs from the depot in the morning, operates on its own, and returns to the depot at night for charging and rest.
The Sky Shuttle can reach a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour. During operation, the train can autonomously perceive and actively detect obstacles ahead. Additionally, the active noise reduction system of the rubber wheels enables the Sky Shuttle to travel with low noise, quietly shuttling between buildings and entering communities.
Sky Shuttle, a low-capacity rail transit product with completely independent intellectual property developed by BYD for over seven years, boasts high intelligence, safety, adaptability, aesthetics, and cost-effectiveness, with low noise levels.
