Matchmaking event in Xi'an facilitates China-Russia cooperation

The China-Russia Agricultural Products Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Event was held in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on April 22-23.

Co-organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the China Chamber of Commerce for the Import and Export of Foodstuffs, and the Shaanxi Sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the event facilitated over 400 matchmaking sessions, resulting in 15 signed cooperation agreement intentions, with an aggregate value of 721 million yuan ($99.52 million).

The event featured two specialized sessions focused on food and beverages as well as meat products. It brought together 96 Shaanxi-based enterprises and trade associations to engage in in-depth discussions with 40 Russian companies. These discussions covered topics such as agricultural specialty products, dairy, grains and oils, food processing, aquatic products, meat products, as well as agricultural technology, inspection and quarantine protocols, and customs clearance logistics.

Legal service desks were set up at the venue to provide bilingual commercial legal consultations to facilitate business negotiations.

During the China (Shaanxi)-Russia Agricultural Economic and Trade Cooperation Negotiation Conference held on April 23, Russian delegates expressed their interest in understanding current market demands and collaboration opportunities, aiming to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the trade of grains and agricultural products.
