Loaded with 50 containers full of home appliances, furniture and daily necessities produced in the Pearl River Delta, the train will leave the country through the Alashankou Port in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, and arrive in Europe in about 14 days.
The new freight train route is developed and operated by Guangdong Guangwu International Logistics Investment Development Co and Xi'an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co.
The goods are transported from the city of Guangzhou in South China's Guangdong province to Xi'an by rail. They are then sent to Europe from Xi'an International Port Station by the new freight train route.
Plans are for the new service to operate at least once a week. It will provide low-cost and efficient logistics and transportation services for Shaanxi and Guangdong.
In 2022, the China-Europe Chang'an freight train made more than 4,600 trains and transported more than 4 million metric tons of goods. It has become a high-quality service that operates on schedule, has a high degree of intelligence, and covers a wide range, with complete service functions at low costs.
