The city of Xi'an – capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – is currently making every effort to ensure the production of its manufacturers.

Since mid-November, its industry departments have sent out more than 150 special supervision and service personnel to provide one-to-one services to 17 county-level industrial concentration areas and large backbone enterprises.

The aim is to ensure the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control policies are in place and that production is not affected.

Xi'an has also implemented a plan for multiplying the ranks of its leading enterprises, and has supported supply chain owners to speed up the process of reinforcing, strengthening and extending their networks.

Local small and medium-sized enterprises or SMEs are being encouraged to assist leading enterprises, to promote coordinated development between leading enterprises and upstream and downstream support businesses.

By the end of November, Xi'an had added 39 newly established little giant companies this year, 124 specialized, refined, innovative and professional SMEs and 168 industrial enterprises above a designated size – those with annual output value of 20 million yuan ($2.86 million) or more.

From January to October this year, the city's total industrial output value above a designated size increased by 22.6 percent and its industrial added value above a designated size grew by 13.5 percent, the highest growth rate over the same period in five years.
