Xi'an enacts measures to ensure graduates' employment, entrepreneurship
Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, recently issued a notice on further ensuring employment and entrepreneurship among college and university graduates and other youth groups, which clarified 10 measures to promote more full employment of graduates.
The city will incentivize employers to employ graduates and implement a one-time employment subsidy of 2,000 yuan ($288.11) and a one-time job expansion subsidy of 1,500 yuan according to regulations.
Municipal State-owned enterprises in Xi'an should recruit at least 1,000 graduates throughout the year, and the number of graduates recruited as community workers this year should be at least 1,700.
Units undertaking municipal-level scientific research plans should develop scientific research assistant positions. In 2022, for scientific and technological plan projects with a funding of more than 300,000 yuan, a scientific research assistant should be hired for every 300,000 yuan in principle.
Scientific research assistant positions should give priority to 2022 graduates from poverty-stricken families, low-income families, and zero-employment families, as well as graduates with disabilities who have not been employed for a long time.
Within the year, at least 1,200 fresh graduates should be employed as research assistants.
Entrepreneurial carriers invested in and developed by the government shall provide about 30 percent of the venue to graduates and entrepreneurs free of charge.
At least 100 online and offline job fairs will be organized before the end of the year as well.
In addition, various vocational competitions will be held to encourage graduates and other young people to obtain relevant vocational qualification certificates or vocational grade certificates while obtaining academic certificates.
