In recent years, the Xi'an Administration for Market Regulation (Xi'an Administration for Intellectual Property) has achieved remarkable results in promoting intellectual property (IP) and formed a new model for the protection of large-scale IP.

Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, has built the first China (Xi'an) IP protection center in Northwest China and set up 50 IP rights protection and assistance workstations, allowing IP rights to better serve the public.

Through joint and special actions, 3,162 cases of trademark and patent infringement and counterfeiting have been investigated and successfully dealt with.

The city has formed a work model of administrative protection, criminal protection, judicial protection, civil mediation, arbitration and other cross-departmental, and multi-level cooperation to carry out large-scale IP protection.

In the city, patent-intensive industries such as artificial intelligence, third-generation semiconductors, new-generation automobiles, and satellite applications are flourishing.

By the end of 2021, the total number of valid invention patents in Xi'an was 60,608, accounting for 90 percent of the province's total.
