The upcoming Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics will run from March 4 to March 13, and on Feb 21 the Chinese delegation to the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics was officially unveiled in Beijing. It is the country's sixth delegation to compete in the Winter Paralympics since 2002.
The Chinese delegation is composed of 217 delegates, including 96 athletes and 121 members responsible for coaching, assistance and healthcare.
Among the 96 Chinese athletes to appear in the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics, Liu Zixu and Wang Tao from Northwest China's Shaanxi province will participate in cross-country skiing and biathlon.
Wang and Liu were archery athletes in the provincial disabled sports management center before they got involved in winter sports.
In the second half of 2017, after being screened and assessed, they officially entered the Chinese cross-country skiing and biathlon national training team for the disabled.
In the cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions of the 11th National Paralympic Games in 2021, Liu was the runner-up in the men's sitting position in the short, medium and long-distance biathlon, and Wang won third place in the men's sitting position in short and medium-distance biathlon.
"As for me, I'll work hard and give it my all in the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics to bring glory to the people of Shaanxi province," Liu said with confidence.
