Xi'an holds international exchange event for expats

The "Charming Xi'an-Xi'an in expats' eyes" event was held on April 20 in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

The event, organized by the Xi'an municipal foreign affairs office and Xi'an International Studies University, attracted over 20 expats from more than 10 countries who are living, working, and studying in Xi'an.

Since the implementation of the 144-hour visa-free transit policy, Xi'an has become one of the most popular destinations for international tourists to China, with its historical charm, rich cultural heritage, diverse food culture, international urban construction, and hospitable folk customs.

The group visited places including Xi'an Liangjiatan International School, Xi'an public security bureau entry-exit reception hall, and the Affiliated Hospital of Northwest University for an in-depth experience of the international services on offer, including finance, healthcare, education, and government services.

During the event, the foreign affairs office promoted the "LoveXi'an" WeChat mini program. This program serves expats in Xi'an, while also providing many foreign-related services, including medical treatment, investment, housing, and visa processing, helping them to more quickly adapt to life in Xi'an.

A teacher from Russia who has been working in Xi'an for 12 years recently received the foreigner's permanent residence ID card, saying, "As an expat, I feel that life in Xi'an is becoming more convenient in recent years. The atmosphere and modern services make me deeply attached to the city, and I hope to contribute to its future development."
