Xi'an Metro Line 10 heading farther north is to open before National Day
On September 22, Xi'an Metro Group held its third quarter "Metro Open Day" event and invited some residents to take a trial ride of Metro Line 10 Phase 1, which is set to open for operation before the National Day holiday.
Xi'an Metro Line 10 Phase 1 starts from Jingshang Village Station in the south and extends to Zhaohui Square Station in Gaoling District in the north. The total length of the line is 34.42 km, with 17 stations in total, including 7 underground stations and ten elevated stations.
Jingshang Village Station is not only the starting point of this new metro line but will also be a transfer station with Line 8 in the future.
Inside the station hall of Jingshang Village Station, the entire space features graceful curves and industrial strength.
Xi'an University of Technology · Wude Road Station is a transfer station between Line 10 Phase 1 and Line 14, and the transfer channels are ready for operation. Residents of Gaoling District can easily transfer to Xi'an Xianyang International Airport without exiting the station.
As another distinctive station of the new metro line, Shuiliu Station is the first stop elevated from the tunnel.
The track is set up on the lower level of the Jinghe & Weihe River Track & Road Bridge. With double-track subway rails, the section also features a bidirectional four-lane urban auxiliary road and a slow-moving system. The bridge's upper level accommodates a bidirectional six-lane urban expressway with a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour, connecting to Xi'an International Port Area and Gaoling District.
In the future, pedestrians can stroll on the bridge to enjoy the surrounding scenery of Jinghe and Weihe Rivers, while cars and subways will travel through the bridge, which will become another new landmark in Xi'an.
The Metro Line 10 utilizes emerging technologies such as fully automated driverless operation, cloud platforms, big data, and artificial intelligence. It focuses on various aspects, including passenger services, train operation organization, dispatch command, and station management, to provide passengers with an efficient and convenient travel experience. At the same time, this line serves as a rapid transit connection between Xi'an's main urban area and Weihe River's northern region, playing a crucial role in facilitating the city's northward expansion.
