Shaanxi athlete wins men's synchronized 10m platform gold at Olympics

A triumphant moment unfolded at the Paris Olympics as Chinese duo Lian Junjie and Yang Hao secured victory in the men's synchronized 10m platform diving final on July 29.

With an impressive total score of 490.35 points, they claimed the gold medal with a commanding lead of 26.91 points over the second-place team, marking the fourth gold for the Chinese delegation at this summer's Olympic Games.

Hailing from the Shaanxi diving team and emerging as a leading figure in the new generation of Chinese divers, Yang follows in the footsteps of diving greats such as Tian Liang and Qin Kai by clinching Olympic gold. This substantial victory, at the age of 26, not only adds to his personal achievements but also represents Shaanxi's first medal at the Paris Olympics.

As a prominent figure in Shaanxi diving's latest generation, Yang joined the Shaanxi diving team in 2010, earning a spot on the national team in November of the same year and showcasing his talent in various competitions since 2015.

Before heading to France, Yang expressed his increasing technical proficiency and a more composed mindset. Despite the pressure, he approached the competition with anticipation and confidence that he will make an impressive showing.
