Xi'an ranks at forefront in nighttime economy
The 2023 China Urban Nighttime Economy Development Summit was held at the Great Tang Mall in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on June 29. The Xi'an Night Consumption Season was also launched at the summit.

The event aimed to showcase the charm and achievements of Xi'an's nighttime economy, and contribute to the construction of Xi'an as an international consumption center.
At the opening ceremony, the authoritative "2023 China Urban Nighttime Economy Development Report" was released.
The report, based on data from popular short-video platform Douyin, evaluated the nighttime economic vitality of cities based on factors such as user activity, consumption power, and service supply between 6 pm and 2 am.

Xi'an ranked among the top cities in China in terms of nighttime economic prosperity, as did Beijing.
Also, the first batch of 10 nighttime consumption gathering areas, 26 nighttime consumption landmarks, and 100 nighttime consumption hotspots for social media were announced at the summit.

These were compiled into the "Xi'an Night Consumption Guide" and "Xi'an Night Consumption Hand-drawn Map", providing comprehensive consumer guides for residents and tourists and further stimulating enthusiasm for nighttime consumption.
In addition, the Xi'an Night Consumption Season was launched on the same day and will last until Aug 31.
The Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Commerce, districts and counties and development zones in the city, as well as over 1,000 brands, merchants, industry associations, financial institutions, and local life service platforms, will plan more than 150 activities to promote nighttime consumption.
