Xi'an among top 10 destinations for Dragon Boat Festival holiday

Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, ranked among the top 10 destinations in China for the Dragon Boat Festival holiday on June 22-24, according to data from online travel agency Ctrip.

Unlike the tourism model that emerged during the May Day holiday, many tourists have begun to return to more leisurely travel, with pleasure and relaxation as their primary goals.

The number of people who bought tickets to go to the site of festival celebrations in Xi'an increased by 199 percent year-on-year.

The top five most popular attractions in Shaanxi during the holiday were the Xi'an Bell Tower, Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, the Xi'an City Wall, Huaqing Palace, and Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

The top five cities that people from Xi'an visited during the holiday were Beijing, Chengdu, Hanzhong, Weinan, and Baoji.

Tourist attractions in the city launched a variety of activities.
