The Chinese-international co-produced documentary Ancient China From Above (Season 2) was recently filmed at the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

It is co-produced by the China Intercontinental Communications Center and National Geographic Channel International, or NGCI – with the aim to depict the profound impact of Chinese civilization on the world.

Host Sam Willis is a leading British archaeologist and historian, who has already been to China many times to participate in the shooting of historical and cultural documentaries.

Director Arthur Jones, who is a designated director for NGCI and BBC, has been to Xi'an more than 20 times and likes to bring family and friends there.

With the assistance of advanced technologies – such as satellite remote sensing, digital photogrammetry, 3D animation and 3D printing – the documentary aims to realistically recreate the magnificent lifestyle of Qinshihuang's Mausoleum and in Xianyang city in the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC).

After post-production is completed, the documentary will be released globally through NGCI and on mainstream domestic video websites.
