On February 25th, the International Rural Mini Marathon in the Qinling Mountains, which was set up at Route 8 in Xi'an Huyi District, officially opened. More than 20 international contestants from the United States, Britain, and Canada, as well as more than 1,000 contestants from more than 20 provinces and cities in China, participated in this event.

When the starting gun was fired at 10:00 in the morning, the contestants set off from the Liyukou Village, Huyi District, running on the picturesque Route 8.

This mini marathon is set up at a distance of 8.8 km, passing through the international art villages. The contestants ran across featured wall paintings, art sculptures and countryside hostages. During this run, they could enjoy the beautiful scenery of early spring in the Qinling Mountains, and feel the integration of ecology, art, and sports in the countryside.

More than ten international students of Chang'an University also enjoyed them fully during this outdoor activity, spreading sweat and passion.

Yang Zhangxing, a student of Xi'an Jiaotong University, won the men's category with a time record of 28 minutes and 48 seconds; Cheng Min won the women's category with a time record of 33 minutes and 43 seconds.

Various stalls were also set up inside the event area to showcase the farmers' paintings of Huxian County, cultural products featuring intangible cultural heritage, and some local agricultural products. Achievements of the agricultural cultural tourism industry and rural revitalization can be well captured here.

In 2023, Hubyi District will deeply explore the humanistic side of the Qinling Mountains, fully promote the construction of international art villages along Route 8, and endeavor to conduct crucial artistic events, so as to generate new scenarios and patterns for public consumption.
