Xi'an – the capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – will promote the deep integration and development of its cultural tourism in the current year, according to the city's culture and tourism administration.

In 2023, Xi'an's total tourism revenue is projected to increase by more than 18 percent, reaching more than 240 billion yuan ($35.38 billion).

The city's 56 municipal key cultural and tourism projects are forecast to complete investment of more than 22 billion yuan over the course of the year.

To achieve these goals, Xi'an is expected to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the cultural industry, and promote the joint development of traditional and emerging formats.

Focusing on history and culture, micro-vacations, local tours and the nighttime economy, the city will enrich high-quality tourism products and supply services.

In addition, cultural tourism platforms will be built, the city brand image will be further publicized, and moves will be made to boost international cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation.
