Shaanxi builds solid connections to Belt and Road

In recent years, Shaanxi has been devoted to enhancing the "Belt and Road Initiative", and has established all-round cooperative relations with more than 40 countries and regions and more than 400 institutions. A total of 24 national-level and 124 provincial-level international scientific and technological exchange and cooperation bases were set up, empowering high-quality development of Shaanxi with escalated openness.

Build up the Asia-Europe land-sea "golden trade corridor"

The China-Europe Freight Train "Chang'an" started its 1st trip in 2013, making 1000, 3841, and 4000 departures in 2018, 2021, and 2022 respectively. It now has 17 regular routes, covering the entire Eurasian continent.

As Xi'an International Port Area has well integrated the railway, highway, aviation and maritime resources, goods from more than 200 countries and 29 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in the country are distributed in Xi'an. From January to November this year, the China-Europe Freight Train "Chang'an" achieved a total of 4,198 departures, with an increase of 678 (19.3%) over the same period last year, and a total of 3.838 million tons of goods were transported.

Establish deep connections to Belt and Road via the practice of innovation

With less than 1/1700 of the province's land area, China (Shaanxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone has created 70% of the province's import and export trade, gathered 60% of the province's foreign-invested enterprises, and accounted for 40% of the actual utilization of foreign investment in the province. Focusing on institutional innovation and reform, the zone has deepened economic cooperation and cultural exchanges with BRI participants.

The increasingly internationalized business environment has attracted more and more players in the high-quality market.

Up to now, more than 300 foreign trade enterprises from the southeast coast of China, over 300 logistics enterprises and more than 1,200 e-commerce enterprises have settled in Xi'an. Global industrial leaders such as Maersk, Amprobe and GLP have reached cooperation with local enterprises in Shaanxi, leading to the gathering of upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain.

In addition, Shaanxi has actively participated in Belt and Road science and technology innovation, introducing high-end science and technology talents. The province also has established science and technology exchange and cooperation with more than 40 countries and regions on a number of high-level international science and technology cooperation platforms.

The superposition effect of major national strategies

Since this year, Shaanxi Auto's overseas orders have continued to grow, and its heavy trucks have been exported to more than 130 countries and regions, with 35,000 overseas export orders, which reached an increase of more than 100% compared with the same period last year.

In the first 11 months of this year, Shaanxi's import and export to BRI participants achieved 101.52 billion yuan, making an increase of 42%, accounting for 22.7% of the province's total import and export value; the import and export to other RCEP countries reached 175.78 billion yuan, making an increase of 2.7%, accounting for 39.3% of the province's total import and export value.

The continuously increased openness to the world has become a "catalyst" for Shaanxi enterprises to march to the global stage, which will empower Shaanxi's high-quality development.
