"I have spent the best 15 years in China," said Ryan Clark, who is a Canadian foreign expert and director of the primary school department of the Kang Chiao International School Xi'an Qujiang Campus.

Ryan is full of the spirit of inquiry about ancient Chinese history. In 2007, after a tour of Egypt, he came to Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

By visiting cultural relics and other historical relics, he has gained a deeper understanding of China and ancient Chang'an.

Ryan has been engaged in education work since he came to Xi'an and in 2020 he became responsible for English teaching and teaching affairs of the primary school department of the Kang Chiao International School Xi'an Qujiang Campus.

Ryan said that when he first arrived in Xi'an 15 years ago, there were only a handful of international schools and the concept of international education had not yet become popular.

But with the development of the city and the acceleration of its opening-up, there are more and more international schools in Xi'an and parents have also changed their educational concepts, Ryan added.

"I believe that the international education in Xi'an will develop better, because this city is full of unlimited potential," he said.

During the 15-year period, Ryan met and fell in love with Ning Chao, a girl from Xi'an, and they started a family and had two lovely children.

"I spent my young adult year in China and Xi'an is my second hometown," he declared.
