On November 7, a press conference was held in Xi'an for the 9th Silk Road International Film Festival, which will be held in Xi'an from November 26-29, 2022.

Film Competition

The "Golden Silk Road Award" Competition Unit now has received 1,598 entries from 90 countries and regions, and 20 outstanding films have been selected. Ten professional awards will be announced on November 29th.

Opening Ceremony

This year's festival will build an artistic bridge for mutual learning between civilizations of countries and regions along the "Belt and Road". On November 26th, nearly 100 celebrity guests will attend the Qujiang E-Sports Center opening ceremony.

Film Night

As a global cultural IP, the Silk Road International Film Festival will fully demonstrate the charm of Silk Road culture and the spirit of openness and inclusiveness. This year's festival initiates the "Film Night" series activities: "Film Art Night", "Chang'an Night" and "Silk Road Night ". Filmmakers will come close to the "Great Heritage" and show the world how Shaanxi's history and culture are intertwined with film art. The event means to motivate the public to participate in the protection of cultural heritage.

Movie-watching activities: online free films & offline movies in the cinema

Starting from November 19th, related movies of the festival will be presented online and offline. 180 outstanding Chinese and international films will be screened in 41 cinemas offline in Shaanxi Province, and 87 films will be released online for free.

The Power of Film

The "Power of Film" section will organize several activities to create more development opportunities for young filmmakers, provide a high-quality interactive platform for the industry, build a bridge for cultural exchanges at home and abroad, and help the film industry flourish.

Awards Ceremony

On the evening of November 29th, the 9th Silk Road International Film Festival Awards Ceremony will usher in the highlight moments for filmmakers, and the ten "Golden Silk Road Awards" will be announced.
