Civilizations are enriched by exchanges and mutual learning. On the morning of June 23, the series event "Discover Shaanxi with Global Young", sponsored by Shaanxi Media Convergence and organized by Huyi District People’s Government of Xi’an Municipality and CNWEST, officially launched at Huyi District of Xi'an City. The first stop of the event was held in Huyi, which is known as "The hometown of Chinese modern folk painting" and "The hometown of Chinese poetry". From here, more people will get to know and love Shaanxi through the "Global Young".

Themed with "green ecology, history and culture, rural rejuvenation", 10 global young from 8 countries including Pakistan, Rwanda and Morocco will spend the next 3 months to see how the people of Shaanxi have turned a desert with no grass into a lush green home; to see how Shaanxi has developed a green economy while protecting the green mountains and clear waters; and to experience the valuable cultural heritage of Shaanxi left by the ancient leaders, and how Shaanxi today is in sync with the world, presenting the ancient capital a new breeze of life.

They will dive into various industries of Shaanxi's development, learn more about Shaanxi, and apply their wisdom to promote the exchange between China and the world. Through the communication and sharing of the Generation Z, more young people around the world can get to know and discover Chinese history and culture. Via multi-level communication channels domestic and abroad, the essence of Chinese culture can be presented to the world from the perspectives of the global young.

Li Hua, Secretary of CPC Huyi District Committee of Xi'an City, extended a warm welcome to the global young. According to his introduction, with a long history and rich culture, this year, the district has set the construction goal of "Poetry and Painting Huyi, Quality New District", aiming to deeply explore traditional folk culture, continuously improve the level of opening to the world, Several well-known cultural and tourism brands have been created, and the potential and momentum of the new quality district is being released at an accelerated pace. "I just took a brief view of this Farmer's Painting Museum and I was totally amazed, I got to learn more about the historical and cultural aspects of Shaanxi." Alvi from Pakistan is a Chinese culture obsessive, and this is his 4th year studying in Xi'an. During last year's epidemic, he started an online course with his teacher to teach international students Chinese who were about to enter school but did not come to China yet.
According to Alvi, Xi'an is his second hometown. He wants to stay in China and work after graduating with a Ph.D. degree. "I have always shared with my family and friends the warm hospitality of Shaanxi people and the wonderful experiences I have had in Shaanxi. I will also do my best to let more young people of the world discover Shaanxi and get to know Shaanxi!"

As the organizer of this event, Xu Fangqing, Deputy Editor-in-chief of CNWEST, introduced that, since 2016, CNWEST has actively enhanced its international cooperation and connections, aiming to present Shaanxi to the world through its edge in media. It has implemented the theme photo exhibition "Capture the moment, Shaanxi in Foreigners' eyes" for five consecutive years, which collected more than 4,000 photos taken by foreign friends related to Shaanxi, among which 2,000 works were displayed. The exhibition achieved a good social effect.
Excellent photography works of the global young during the 2022 "Discover Shaanxi with Global Young" series event will be in exhibition this November.
