The New Term Election Ceremony of China·Xi'an New Silk Road Association for the Promotion of International Communication was held in Xi'an

On May 21st, the New Term Election Ceremony of China·Xi'an New Silk Road Association for the Promotion of International Communication and the Founding Conference of International Exchange (Xi'an) Promotion Center were held at the Yanta Campus of Xi'an International Studies University.

Wang Qilong, Vice Principal of Xi'an International Studies University, said that the association has actively responded to the "Belt and Road" initiative, and has made outstanding achievements in promoting political and business exchanges between China and other countries in the world, telling China's stories well and introducing Xi'an to the world. The university will take this cooperation as an opportunity to deepen the coordination of the university and the association, and to create a win-win situation.

Yang Qing, Vice Chairman of Shaanxi Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Secretary of the Party Group and Chairman of Xi'an Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, delivered a warm speech. He hoped that under the leadership of the new office term, the association would play a greater role in political leadership, cultural exchanges, economic development and promotion, and non-governmental public diplomacy.

Wu Yaowu, Vice Principal of Xi'an International Studies University, said that the two sides would carry out inter-school exchanges with "ASEAN" countries, build a government-industry-university-research-business cooperation platform, and organize international cultural exchanges.

The directors and supervisors of the second association council were elected. Ms. Wang Yunzhen, the overseas member of the Shaanxi and Xi'an Federation of Overseas Chinese, also the Executive Director of the Overseas Friendship Association of the United Front Work Department of the Xi'an Municipal Party Committee, was elected as the Chairman of the second association council.

In her speech, President Wang Yunzhen expressed her gratitude to all the members and member units of the first council for their contributions. She said that the new council would continue to be guided by the Silk Road spirit, adhere to the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, and contribute to the opening up of Shaanxi.
