Xi'an stands out for international communication

The list of the top 10 examples of excellent international communication in 2021 was recently announced by Chinese Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, and one case submitted by Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, made the cut.

The Xi'an submission related to the city's international communication while hosting the 14th China's National Games of China, which took place on Sept 15-27, 2021.

Among the top 10 cases, seven were provincial-level cases, two were sub-provincial-level cases (Xi'an and Guangzhou), and one was a prefecture-level city case.

Before and after the games, Xi'an organized more than 130 news publicity activities, with more than 30,000 articles published on domestic and overseas media platforms – receiving more than 7.3 billion online hits.

More than 60 original short videos of various styles were launched on the WeChat video account of the Xi'an executive committee of the 14th China's National Games, covering an audience of 1.8 billion.

Xi'an was said to have been extremely active in the innovation of its publicity work – especially in the field of international communication through short videos, official video accounts and other communication methods – to better promote the city's image.
