International students welcome the Chinese New Year

On January 29, the international students of Shaanxi University of Science and Technology carried out activities on campus to celebrate the Spring Festival.

On January 31, the international students of Yan'an University hung the Chinese character fu on the door of the dormitory.

This Spring Festival, many international students chose to stay local during the Chinese New Year, and welcome the Spring Festival via activities such as writing Chinese characters, hanging Spring Festival couplets, and presenting performances.

On January 29, the School of International Education, Shaanxi University of Science and Technology held a featured event for Spring Festival, which attracted 22 international students from Morocco, Niger, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and other countries.

During the activity, international students from different countries sent wishes to their Chinese teachers, classmates and friends in both Chinese and their native languages, also hanging Spring Festival couplets to decorate their apartments.

Zhang Sufeng, Dean of the School of International Education, Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, said: "Since the Lunar New Year's Eve, while we carried out epidemic prevention and control, we also invited international students and Chinese students to have the Lunar New Year's Eve dinner, play games, and participate in fun events."

Zhang Jie from the International Office of Yan'an University introduced that there are 8 international students staying in the university during the Spring Festival this year. The Spring Festival couplet is one of the activities to welcome the Spring Festival. Via participating in these activities, international students can feel the warmth from the university and the festive atmosphere of traditional Chinese festivals.
