                2021 "New Development Pattern and Shaanxi's Opportunities" Symposium

On the afternoon of September 30, also on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Shaanxi Committee held the 2021 "New Development Pattern and Shaanxi's Opportunities" Symposium at the iHarbor in Xixian New District, Xi'an City. There were nearly on-site and on-line 100 attendees joining this symposium, including officials of foreign consulates in Shaanxi, Chengdu, and Chongqing, overseas business organizations in China, representatives of overseas enterprises in Shaanxi, chambers of commerce and foreign experts, representatives of international students, and leaders of provincial and municipal foreign affairs offices. Yao Hongjuan, Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Shaanxi Committee, attended the symposium and delivered a speech, and the symposium was hosted by Yao Jinchuan, Deputy Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Shaanxi Committee.

Director Yao Hongjuan firstly preached the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s "July 1st" speech. Afterwards, she brought up the importance of the development of Qin Chuangyuan’s Innovation-Driven Platform and 23 key industrial chains, which are crucial topics of the speech of Secretary Liu Guozhong at The Ninth Plenary Session of the 13th Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China.

At last,  Director Yao Hongjuan said, "Today, we arranged this symposium here, mainly for the fact that Fengxi New City is centers around the strategic orientation of the contemporary Xi’an and its new industry base, and has gathered the iHarbor featured by XJTU, the Soaring Town featured by NPU, and Western Cloud Valley as well as many other innovative platforms, which together form this modern industrial system with multi-polar support such as information industry as the core, intelligent manufacturing and modern service industry as the focus, and support from electronic information, biomedicine, energy Internet, in which there are major international cooperative opportunities. I hope that through today’s symposium, we will be able to build a communication platform for everyone, strengthening strategic collaboration, locating the angle for international cooperation, and sharing new opportunities for Shaanxi’s development."

At the symposium, Professor Hu Jinrong presented the report on "Shaanxi Opportunities under the New Development Pattern", and further analyzed Shaanxi's economic and social development, the 14th Five-Year Plan, Qin Chuang Yuan's Innovation-Driven Platform construction and key industries Chain layout situation. Liu Youjun, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Xixian New District, gave a detailed introduction to the industrial development plan of the new district. Jin Bingquan, South Korea's Consul General in Xi'an, Huang Liqing, Thai's Consul General in Xi'an, Song Weishan, Cambodian Consul General in Xi'an , Chen Ziqin, Singapore's Consul General in Chengdu, Bao Shi, Dutch Consul General in Chongqing, and Ma Zhiming, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's Liaison Office in Shaanxi all expressed their expectation that the development of Shaanxi could flourish together with the Qin Chuang Yuan Innovation-Driven Platform, and they proposed to promote pragmatic cooperation between the two parties in the fields of economy, politics, and culture. Xi Guang, Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University expected that more extensive cooperation with countries in the world in education and science and technology could be carried out, and the scale of international students could be further expanded, with iHarbor the crucial base for foreign exchanges.
