An Open China - Shaanxi Engaging the World
2017-01-18 13:48:47 , Source : The Government Website of Shaanxi ProvinceJust before the 2015 Spring Festival, President Xi Jinping, during his trip in Shaanxi, stated clearly, “As one of the major national and cultural cradles for China, Shaanxi boasts stunning antiquities like Lantian Ape-man, Banpo Museum and Mausoleum of Yellow Emperor. And the province is featured with more-than-millennium-old Xi’an that, as the imperial capital, bore witness to a dozen or so dynasties such as Qin, Han and Tang. What’s more, Shaanxi ever saw how Chinese communists at Yan’an led the great revolution. So, little wonder this place holds enormous cultural profundity. The Mausoleum of Yellow Emperor, Terra-Cotta Warriors, Yan’an Pagoda, Qinling Mountains, Huashan Mountain, etc. all bear vivid marks of China in geography, culture and revolution.”
On the frontier of the “Western Development Drive”, Shaanxi has been given historic missions of creating a new engine for West China’s scientific advance, a new highland for the inland reform and opening-up, and a vital node for the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) initiative.
The global presentation of “An Open China: Shaanxi Engaging the World” debuted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the People’s Republic of China. Diplomatists from 134 countries and representatives of international organizations showed up.
At the same venue, a map of Shaanxi made of wooden ladles made its breathtaking appearance.
The grand event was reported by over 100 domestic and foreign news media.
On this occasion, Wang Jianjun, the mayor of Hanzhong City, introduced Se-enriched tea to a foreign diplomatist.
On July 5th, a brief glimpse into the classy artworks was on show.
