A deep look of Shaanxi with the 14th National Games:Shangluo

In history, Shangluo has been a major transportation route from the northwest to the southeast, with profound historical and cultural accumulation. Li Bai, Bai Juyi, Han Yu, Du Mu and other poetry masters used to reside in Shangshan Mountain (currently in Danfeng County, Shangluo), leaving the heritage of various well-known verses, the timeless classic. The famous contemporary writer in China Jia Pingwa was born in Dihua Town, Danfeng County, on the bank of Danjiang River.

      

Shangluo is rich in eco-tourism resources, with wonderful mountains and beautiful peaks, treacherous gorges and well-known rivers, the lush trees and unique natural landscapes just add extra charm to Shangluo. There are 48 nature and rare animal reserves.

Exciting scenes of the torchbearers

On the morning of September 10th, the Torch Relay of the 14th National Games and the 11th National Games for the Disabled and the 8th Special Olympic Games was held in Shangluo as the 13th passing station. The Torch Relay started from Shangluo Sports Center. 64 torchbearers from various fields and representatives of the disabled relayed the torch along the route with around 4.6 km.  

               Sports vibe of Shangluo City

Shangluo City undertook two sports events including women's volleyball (U19) and road cycling. At present, the Shangluo Sports Center, the main stadium of the 14th National Games Women's Volleyball (U19) project, has been transformed and upgraded. At the same time, the Shangzhou District Gymnasium was newly constructed, as the training venue for the volleyball match of the 14th National Games. The road cycling track with a total length of 116 kilometers has also been maintained and upgraded.    Shangluo Gymnasium

Shangluo Gymnasium covers an area of 32 mu, with a construction area of 12,000 square meters and 4,100 seats. It is the venue for the 14th National Games of Volleyball (women under 19).       Shangzhou District Gymnasium

The Shangzhou District Gymnasium serves as a training venue for the volleyball match of the 14th National Games. The venue covers an area of 11 acres, with a total construction area of 4,100 square meters, a net area of 1,800 square meters for indoor sports venues, with 1,800 electric retractable seats.    

The Road Cycling Track

The road cycling track starts and ends at the Shangluo Sports Center, passing through Shangyang Avenue-Yadi Avenue-312 National Highway-Mangling Greenway-307 Provincial Highway-Shangluo Sports Center, with a total length of 116 kilometers.

During this race, 18 teams from 4 continents and 9 countries and regions, with a total of 146 professional players and 500 cycling enthusiasts participated in the competition. The main track was set up on the road cycling track of the 14th Games.

Sports Spirit In recent years, Shangluo has successively organized and hosted a series of sports events such as the Tour of Qinling Mountains International Road Cycling Race, Shangluo International Marathon, Zhashui Jiutianshan Ski Open, and Shaanxi Provincial Sports Tourism and Leisure Conference. In particular, the Qinling Road Cycling Race has been upgraded to an international race since its inception in 2014. 

The international road cycling race is an inspiring start, which solidifies Shangluo's efforts to implement the concept 'Sports+', enriching the new image of the city known as the'Natural Oxygen Bar','City of Health and Wellness' and 'A charming city to live and travel'.
