1. City Characteristics and Development Orientation

Ankang City lies in the south of Shaanxi Province, and is located in the middle and upper reaches of Hanjiang River and hinterland of Qinling Mountains and Daba Mountains and adjoins Sichuan Province, Chongqing Municipality and Hubei Province. Boasting several rivers and beautiful ecological environment, it is one of the main water resources for South-to-North Water Transfer Project.

It covers an area of 23,534.5 square kilometers with a permanent resident population of 2,493,436(2020). In 2020, Ankang City's GDP was RMB 108.88 billion.

Ankang City aims to build itself a rich city by focusing on advancing the construction of regional center city, new materials base and featured biological resources process base, and building the transportation hub and logistics center in middle and upper reaches of Hanjiang River.

2. Investment Promotion Overview and Investment Environment Features

Ankang City is an important transportation hub linking the northwestern, southwestern and central China regions. It is abundant in water resources accounting for 59.5% of the Shaanxi’s total water resources and minerals, particularly with the gold, gulch-gold, vein gold, copper mine, manganese ore, etc. being the special minerals. There are unique tourism resources in Ankang City such as the national forest parks and natural reserves.

In 2016, the city concluded a total of 276 investment projects, with the capital actually in place being RMB 45.86 billion. A total of 20 key industrial projects have been completed and put into operation. Intelligent manufacturing projects like Shaanxi Aobang Forging and Shaanxi Nanshui Auto Parts Manufacturing have made sound breakthrough.
