Xianyang: Ancient Imperial Capital Embodying New Appearance

1. City Characteristics and Development Orientation

Located in the hinterland 800 miles away from Qinchuan, Xianyang is famous for the fact that it faces Wei River to the south and Zongshan Mountain to the north, and that baths in sunshine all year round. Xianyang is the capital of Qin Dynasty, the first centralized feudal dynasty in China, the first stop of the ancient Silk Road, and the gateway of central and eastern China to northwest China.

It covers an area of 10,283 square kilometers with a permanent resident population of 5million. In 2020, Xianyang’s GDP reached RMB 220.481 billion.

Xianyang develops with the goal of integrating into the Greater Xi'an and becoming a new well-off city featuring culture and health. The municipal government will build Xianyang into an international metropolis featuring integrated development along with Xi'an. Endeavors will also be made to develop an innovation-driven modern industrial cluster area, an international tourist destination integrating culture and ecology, and a strategic, open and inclusive highland for inland openness and development.

2. Investment Promotion Overview and Investment Environment Features

Xianyang has obvious location advantages. It is located at the core position of Guanzhong City Group and its central area is only 13km from Xianyang Airport. A total of 9 railways and 6 expressways pass through this area. In addition, it has a solid modern industrial foundation and beautiful and pleasant ecological environment which makes it a modern livable city with both natural and cultural beauty.

In 2016, the city completed the actual investment fund of RMB 91.22 billion. A total of 19 supporting projects for electronic industry with the investment of RMB 8 billion like AOC have signed and settled in the city, and information industry has shown a rapid rise; meat products production line of Shuanghui Group has been put into operation, food industry and modern agriculture achieved mutual promotion; new smart city “Six Ones” Project has been advanced in a more in-depth manner and the city has been awarded as the second at home thanks to the development of Smart City Cloud Platform.

(1) Taking large-scale, high-end and agglomerated industry development as the objective, focusing on introduction of electronic information, high-end energy and chemical, equipment manufacturing, food processing, biomedicine, textiles & garments and new building materials, thereby creating a characteristic industrial clusters.

(2) Taking industrialization, socialization and internationalization as the orientation, introducing professional and high quality production service corporations, so as to promote sound and efficient development of service industry.

(3) Actively introducing modern agricultural projects by centering on establishment of multi-format and multi-function agriculture industrial system.
