Ambassadors to China explore Xi'an's rich culture and technological innovation

Diplomats from dozens of countries recently visited the historic capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi Province. In Xi'an, known as the home of the famed Terracotta Warriors, they also witnessed China's dynamic development. Wang Mengjie reports. 

Immersive performances and meticulously recreated scenes transported diplomats back a thousand years as they walked through the Twelve Hours of Chang'an cultural block. This vivid recreation of Tang Dynasty urban life aims to become a hallmark cultural tourism program, showcasing Shaanxi's unique heritage to both domestic and international visitors. The block is certainly not the only way for diplomats to get to grips with the city's ancient past. As one of the hottest tourist attractions in the world, the Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses serve as both the pride and precious wealth of the Chinese nation and a spiritual symbol of Chinese civilization with important historical, scientific and artistic values.

Apart from its rich history, Xi'an is also home to flourishing manufacturing industries. Driven by technological advancement and innovative breakthroughs, it is fast becoming a powerhouse of industrial transformation.

During their tour in Xi'an, diplomats said they learnt a lot and hope to promote cooperation that benefits not only bilateral trade, but also people-to-people contacts.
