Project under China's Belt and Road Initiative promotes industrial vocational training for Indonesians

Besides infrastructure and transportation projects, some projects offer tangible benefits to the people, such as advanced skills, professional courses, and new experiences. CGTN's Gao Ang visited a project which aims to promote vocational training in the industrial sector for Indonesians and deepen cooperation between China and Indonesia.
Faisal Kafil has been an engineer for an Indonesian electric company for years. Since last month, he has been in east China's Suzhou City and learning something new from courses on the Internet of Things, mechanical construction and programming. And for him, it's a great opportunity.

And these lessons could be useful. Faisal said they have similar technology and equipment in Indonesia, so he can apply the new knowledge and skills at the power plants back home.

We can use robotics to stack up things. We can use the robotics to automatic things. So, we can enhance our technology forward."
GAO ANG Suzhou, Jiangsu Province "Here at the campus, almost 300 Indonesians from different backgrounds, including technical workers and vocational education teachers, are getting training in various fields such as big data, the Internet of things, artificial intelligence and robotics."
And other courses are also provided on supply chain management, pharmaceutical biotechnology and Chinese cuisines.

The project is led by the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission and supported by Tanoto Foundation China. Featuring important majors such as new energy vehicles and robotics, officials said the project's second phase will be held in central China's Xi'an City in October.

According to officials, China has signed more than 200 cooperation documents linked to the Belt and Road Initiative with more than 150 countries and 32 international organizations.
