Italian women's soccer delegation visits Xi'an

A 43-member delegation of the U16 women's soccer team from Umbria, Italy, visited Shaanxi Province to engage in multifaceted exchanges through soccer matches, cultural studies, and visits to sci-tech venues. Shaanxi and Umbria established a sister-province relationship in 1995, fostering lasting cultural ties over the years.

The delegation participated in friendly matches with the soccer teams of Xi'an Tieyi Zhonglu Port Middle School and the High School Affiliated to Shaanxi Normal University. Both sides competed on the field, followed by post-game activities where players took group photos, exchanged jerseys, and shared gifts such as handmade cultural items. They also discussed training methods and campus life, while coaches discussed coaching techniques.

The delegation also visited several iconic landmarks. They visited Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum and the Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Center to learn about Shaanxi's historical artifacts and intangible cultural heritage, Qinling Four Rare Animals Science Park to see protected animals, and the Xi'an Olympic Sports Center to experience state-of-the-art sports facilities.

Delegation members noted that the trip provided an insightful glimpse into Shaanxi's rich history, environmental conservation efforts, and innovations in modern science. They emphasized that the region's industrial and urban development experiences offer valuable lessons and a source of inspiration.
