Immigration service center in Xi'an becomes "one-stop" service hub

Since opening in September 2025, the Qujiang Immigration Affairs Service Center has offered comprehensive "one-stop" services for foreign nationals residing in Xi'an's Qujiang New Area.

The center integrates 12 types of physical services, including public security, traffic management, taxation, banking, market regulation, and housing security, and also offers nine categories of foreign-related consultations in areas such as healthcare, education, and cultural tourism, bringing the total number of service items to 21.

The service hall does not use broadcast announcements for queue numbers. Instead, an electronic screen, text messages, and phone notifications form a "silent queuing" system, making the waiting area orderly and efficient.

"Our working hours at the counter are designed for the convenience of visitors, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays with no midday break," explained a staff member. "Many international students and working professionals can come during their lunch breaks."

"Around 4,200 international students from universities within our service area and over 3,000 foreign nationals residing in the community currently benefit from the center," said an official of the center. "While the center is situated in Qujiang New Area, it welcomes foreign nationals from throughout the city to manage their affairs here."

Since September 2025, the center's immigration service window has handled 709 visa applications and renewals, issued 200 non-criminal record certificates, and offered consultations to 301 individuals, with international students comprising over 90% of the total service volume.

Currently, the center welcomes anywhere from a few to dozens of visitors daily, with peak times occurring during visa processing before the academic year starts and certificate issuance throughout the graduation season.

Transitioning from solely immigration services to multi-departmental foreign-related offerings, the Qujiang Immigration Affairs Service Center enhances convenience, intelligence, and precision for foreign nationals in Xi'an, reflecting the city's commitment to open, inclusive, efficient, and welcoming administrative services.
