​Xi'an's Lintong pomegranate goes global

On Nov 23, a cold chain truck carrying pomegranates destined for Vietnam departed from Xi'an Danruo'er Pomegranate Winery Co, located in Lintong district, Xi'an.

This marks the second large-scale export of Lintong pomegranates since their first entry into the Southeast Asian market last year, demonstrating that Lintong's specialty agricultural products are making significant strides in international markets.

About 20 metric tons of Lintong pomegranates will be distributed through major fruit distribution networks to several high-end supermarkets and fruit stores in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, relying on the main fruit distribution network.

"The pomegranates are the first batch of the 100 tons of fresh pomegranates we plan to export from Lintong to Vietnam this year. We have also coordinated with the Xi'an Customs and plan to export Lintong pomegranates to Bangladesh," said Wang Li, general manager of the Xi'an Danruo'er Pomegranate Winery Co.

They also hope to promote Lintong's deep processed products such as pomegranate wine and juice to the international market, allowing more people to enjoy this unique flavor from Xi'an.

Li Meijuan, deputy director of the Lintong district bureau of agriculture and rural affairs, said that they will continue to promote more high-quality agricultural products to the world via the Belt and Road initiative, adding new momentum for rural vitalization and agricultural cooperation in Lintong district.
