Global buyers gather for innovative TCM products in Xi'an

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and relevant innovative products seem to have stolen the spotlight of the just-concluded 6th Western International Sourcing Exhibition in Xi'an.

Exhibitors showcasing authentic TCM herbs, smart medical devices and innovative TCM delicacies drew large crowds, with visitors lining up for product tastings and live demonstrations.

Among the highlights was a creative fusion of TCM principles and culinary art: medicinal herbal-infused decorative steamed buns. Combining aesthetic appeal with health benefits, these edible creations exemplified the industry's push to integrate traditional wisdom into modern lifestyles.

Buyers from a number of countries thronged the venue in this city in northwest China to explore collaborative opportunities. A Kazakhstani delegation expressed keen interest in sourcing authentic TCM herbs, concentrated granules, and modern diagnostic equipment, while prioritizing technology transfers, joint standard-setting, and TCM education programs.

A Vietnamese hospital detailed their demands for around 300 common TCM herbs and medicine-food homology products.

Spanning 16,000 square meters, the exhibition featured seven specialized zones, including a TCM equipment zone and a herbal extracts zone. The displays covered the entire TCM industrial chain, from cultivated herbs and regional TCM resources to cutting-edge plant extracts, digital health services, and AI-powered medical devices.
