Xi'an is emerging as a premier destination for first store launches, with an impressive 236 new brand openings in the first nine months of 2025.

According to Windata, Xi'an has hosted 136 first-launch events this year, drawing a diverse array of brands. The third quarter alone saw 155 new brand stores open, more than double the number from the previous quarter.

Notable developments like MixC Mall, which opened last year, have become essential stops for both locals and tourists. The mall offers a rich mix of international fashion, outdoor sports, and jewelry, introducing nearly 200 first stores and flagship concept shops. In September, nearly 10 Northwest China first stores opened their doors at MixC.

The Saga International Shopping Center has welcomed nearly 50 first stores this year, spanning light dining, outdoor sports, and trendy brands. Meanwhile, the Xi'an Economic & Technological Development Zone has attracted over 10 first stores across dining, fashion, retail, and beauty sectors.

These first stores have boosted foot traffic, highlighting strong consumer interest. For example, Rest&Recreation's Northwest first store at MixC Mall reported impressive sales of 500,000 yuan ($70,218) in its opening month.

Xi'an's focus on hosting first stores and product launches highlights its cultural and commercial strength, attracting considerable attention and influence. During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, the city's 10 major commercial complexes welcomed 6.17 million visitors and generated 936 million yuan in sales.

In a recent development, DT51 opened its first store outside Beijing in Xi'an High-Tech Industries Development Zone. The store offers a curated retail experience with themed dining, lifestyle services, and community events.
